Are HBCUs Right for You?

SS+logo+for+workshops.jpg

For generations, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have been more than an academic institution for Black people in this country and our global community — it's been a home away from home. Current students walk the same grounds as many historical Black figures that have cemented their name in history — such as Toni Morrison, Marian Wright Edelman, Martin Luther King Jr., Booker T. Washington, Oprah Winfrey, and even Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman). HBCUs have provided spaces for Black and Brown students to explore their blackness and intersectionality in a community with other Black and Brown people. Come learn about the experiences, the lessons, and the advice from alumni of different Historically Black Colleges and Universities. This panel discussion will be moderated by Alfonso who is a NYC mentor and Howard University alumnus. Feel free to bring questions to the panel or send questions beforehand to abeale@summersearch.org.
