Eligibility:

· On track to graduate by June 2021. Aviation HS students who will be participating in the 5th-year program are eligible to apply.

·  Enrolled or in process of enrolling in a post-secondary pathway (college, job-training program, trade school, and military).

·   Shared your financial aid package with their mentor or the post-secondary access team (if you have not shared your package yet, you can still submit them. If you are not attending college, you do not have to submit your financial aid package!)

·   Actively engaged with Summer Search. Actively engaged looks like checking in with your mentor on a consistent basis and worked with Nancy or Julian at least once during senior year. (Students who have gone months without communicating with your mentor, have been on a contract more than once, or have not met with the post-secondary access team this year should speak to your mentor about your eligibility before starting the application process)

To apply, students must answer the following prompt: What is your vision for your future?

You can address the prompt in the format you prefer, so long as you explicitly answer the question. For example, students can either:

1)    Write an essay/poem/biography/etc. (500 words max.)

2)    Create a short video/documentary/etc.  (5 min max.)

3)    Paint/draw/sculpt/etc. (5 pieces of art max. Additionally, you must attach a short explanation of your artwork)

Students are not limited to the examples above. There is no right or wrong way to go about answering the prompt!

What are the judges looking for?

·       Creativity - How can you make your submission stand out?

·       Honesty - Do not share a story you think the judges want to hear. There are no right or wrong answers.

·       Clarity - It is important for the judges to understand the message you are trying to get across. If the message is not clear, it is possible that others may misconstrue it.

Submit your application using the link below before 11:59 PM on June 10th, 2021. We will not accept any late submissions unless students communicate their concerns with Julian prior to the deadline. If you have any questions, please contact Borah at bcoburn@summersearch.org
