Applying for colleges via the Common App?

Make sure you…

  • Complete the primary application

  • Send in supplemental information

  • Get 2 recommendations

  • Share your SAT scores

  • Submit a personal statement

  • Include an additional optional statement

  • Share your academic transcript

Additional Information to keep in mind:

  • Supplemental applications vary from school to school

  • While the optional essay is technically optional, you should definitely do it!

  • Not all college applications have the option to select HEOP

  • Students who meet the low-income requirement will have their first eight application fees waived

  • Some school may waive their fees regardless of the number of schools applied to

  • Some applications may not require personal statements

  • Recommendation forms are sent to recommenders directly

  • School counselors send your academic transcript

  • Check every school website to ensure how to send documents and view other information they may need
